7: Archaeoastronomy
Hi, today I will talk about a course of my career, this course is Archaeoastronomy and I liked too much because mix the archaeology and astronomy knowledge. The course is about of how any cultures of the past studied and used the different astronomic landmarks and stellar map to be guided in the navigation or delimitate different time periods relevant in the economy of any societies, for example: the farming or harvest of foods. I enjoyed this course because is very interesting for know how some cultures used the astronomic in their lifes. I learned that for the settlement of polynesia, the first navigators from Asia not only needed develop good ships to cross the pacific ocean in search of new lands, also they had develop a navigation system that would allow them to be guided for the open sea at night without get lost, they could achieve it thanks to the observation of some stars in the nocturne sky.
